"The Nevers" is the debut single from Early Riser's forthcoming full-length Currents, coming out this year on Anchorless Records/A-F Records. Originally formed as an acoustic duo by Kiri Oliver (guitar, vocals) and Heidi Vanderlee (cello, vocals) in 2014, the band added a rhythm section before heading into the studio last year to record Currents with producer Joel Tannenbaum (Plow United, The Rentiers) and engineer Mike Bardzik (Spraynard, Mischief Brew, The Sundials) at Noisy Little Critter Studios in Thorndale, PA. "The Nevers" introduces listeners to Early Riser's upbeat style of pop punk driven by cello riffs, acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies. The track's lyrics address the choice to be optimistic about the future despite past setbacks, culminating in the rallying cry, "It's okay to go out with a whimper as long as you come back in with a bang."

Augusta Koch's vocals. I just love her voice. This is a little more stripped down, DIY, 4-track, mellow than her stuff with Cayetana and enjoy hearing that side to her voice\songwriting. pleebs
